INTERNATIONAL U16 TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS
Junior FC • June 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th
1. Competition format
The tournament will be played according to the format and competition brackets previously communicated by the organisation.
All teams will play a similar number of matches during the tournament.
2. Points system
During the group stage, the following points system will apply:
- Win: 3 points
- Draw: 1 point
- Loss: 0 points
3. Tie-breaking criteria
In case of a tie on points between two or more teams, the following criteria will apply, in order:
- Overall goal difference.
- In case of a multiple-team tie, only the matches played between the tied teams will be considered, using the goal difference between those teams.
- Total goals scored.
- Total goals conceded.
- Total number of wins.
- If the tie still remains, a shootout competition will decide the ranking.
4. Match duration
Matches will consist of:
- 2 halves of 15 minutes.
- 2-minute half-time break.
Time will run continuously and will only be stopped if expressly indicated by the tournament organisation or the umpires.
5. Schedule and punctuality
There will be a strict 15-minute gap between matches, intended exclusively for:
- Teams entering and leaving the field.
- Immediate warm-up.
- Punctual start of the following match.
Under no circumstances will this time slot be extended. Teams must be ready to start the match at the scheduled time.
If a team is not ready to begin on time, the umpire may issue a green or yellow card to the captain, similarly to a delayed restart after half-time in an official match.
6. Knockout matches and shootouts
In knockout rounds (KO), if a match ends in a draw at full time, the winner will be decided directly through a shootout competition.
For organisational and timing reasons:
- Each team will take only 3 shootouts.
- If the tie remains, the shootout competition will continue in sudden death format.
7. Disciplinary sanctions
There will be no automatic suspensions due to accumulation of yellow cards.
In case of a red card, the Tournament Technical Director will review the incident and decide the appropriate sanction.
The organisation reserves the right to suspend players, expel team members, or expel a team from the tournament if considered necessary.
8. Applicable regulations
For any situation not specifically covered by these regulations, the official FIH (International Hockey Federation) Rules of Hockey and competition regulations will apply.
9. Pre-tournament briefing
An online briefing meeting will be held the day before the start of the tournament with the staff members of all participating teams.
Teams will be informed in advance about the access details, schedule and format of this meeting, where any questions regarding the tournament organisation may be clarified.
Medical Insurance: Every player needs to have their own medical insurance with coverage in Spain.
